If you have ever struggled to talk about sex with your clients…
If you avoid talking about sex because you’re not sure how to deal with it…
If you feel uncertain about what questions to ask…
If you want more tools and practical exercises that you know can help…
Let’s talk about sex, baby!
Because we need to...
The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.
And sex is an important part of intimate partnerships… It’s a crucial issue in relationships and can be a huge source of tension.
However it gets left out of most therapy training including couples therapy training.
I’ve personally worked with many couples who spent years in therapy and were never encouraged to deal with their underlying sexual challenges.
Traditionally, we thought that if the relationship was good, sex would sort itself out. But we know that just isn’t true.
If you work with couples, you need to know how to talk about sex with your clients in an open, comfortable and informed way and have practical tools to support them as best you can.
Over 6 engaging weeks (and 12 self assessed learning hours), we’ll cover the foundations of dealing with sex and sexuality in the therapy room based on my training as a Couples Therapist, Sex Therapist, Sexologist and former Sex Surrogate and Tantra Teacher.

Hi, I’m Isiah!
In case we haven’t met yet, let me introduce myself.
I’m Isiah McKimmie. Working with individuals and couples around sex, intimacy and relationships is my jam!
But becoming a couple therapist and sexologist is seriously the last thing I could have imagined myself doing growing up…
I was uncomfortable with my body, shy about sex and lacking experience in relationships…
That all changed for me when I discovered Tantra in my early 20s. If you don't know what Tantra is don't worry I didn't at the time either. Tantra is essentially a form of yoga that has benefits for sex and intimacy.
Tantra helped me feel confident around my body, have more intimacy in my relationships and gave me the tools for the mind-blowing sex I'd heard other people talking about.
One thing led to another and I ended up teaching Tantra. I realised that helping people improve their sex lives could improve the quality of their lives and I wanted the best tools, information and qualifications to do it.
While my studies began with Tantra and Somatic Sexology, I realised I wanted a trauma informed approach and science-backed tools to support my clients.
I spent almost the next decade learning all I could around relationships, intimacy and sex. I’ve also lectured in two Masters of Counselling courses (but always felt something lacking in sex and relationship teachings).
It’s this intersection of skills, information and qualifications that have allowed me to support my clients over the past 15 years - and it’s this intersection that I’m passionate about sharing with other therapists.
This is an incredibly rewarding area to master. I would love to share what I’ve learned with you!
My professional qualifications include:
- Masters Degree in Relational Psychotherapy
- Masters Degree in Science of Medicine (Sexual Health/Psychosexual Therapy)
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Sexology
- Studied at the prestigious Institute for the Advanced Studies of Human Sexuality
- Levels 1, 2 & 3 of The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy
- Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship, Skills A & B
